Cosmetology

Helping people look good and feel good about themselves makes Cosmetology a very satisfying and rewarding profession. Jolie Academy's 1000 hour course prepares students to acquire their license to operate in the state of Massachusetts or Pennsylvania. Students will learn all facets of the Cosmetology industry in a combined classroom theory and hands-on laboratory environment.

Upon completing the programs, Jolie Academy students are well prepared for rewarding careers as a hairdresser, color specialist, permanent wave specialist, platform artist, manufacturer's representative, and in other allied occupations.

Barbering

Jolie Barbering Academy was established as a division of Jolie Hair and Beauty Academy of Hazleton.

Pennsylvania State Board of Barbering mandates that barbering students receive 1250 hours in theory and practical experience. The barbering program is a 10-month day program or a 20-month evening program of instruction.

The objective of the program is to educate the student in the required subjects necessary to successfully pass the State of Pennsylvania exam. The student is equipped and tested for related cognitive and practical skills. The curriculum also includes current trends and methods for shop employment.

Nail Technician (Manicuring)

The goal is to provide training in the field of natural and artificial nail care. Graduates may earn a Pennsylvania manicurist license after passing the state board examination.

Manicuring

The primary purpose of the course is to train students in both theory and practical experiences which will prepare them for immediate employment opportunities. The course is particularly directed towards developing desirable habits and attitudes with the respect to health, sanitation and safety which encourages self-reliance, readiness to assist others and an ethical approach to this profession.

Esthetician

The goal of the Esthetician program is to provide training in the field of skin care and makeup.

Teacher Training

The goal is to provide training in cosmetology for the state of Pennsylvania's instructor exam and license. A cosmetology teacher license may be received after passing the Pennsylvania state board examination.

Patient Care Technician

At Jolie Academy, we'll prepare you for a career as a Patient Care Technician through a combination of theoretical and hands-on learning. Throughout the program, you can expect to learn the following:

Blood specimens are important in patient care, as they help doctors diagnose and treat patients' medical conditions. Depending on their place of employment, they may also collect donations from blood donors.

Nurse Aide

If so, you might consider enrolling in nursing assistant school and training for a career as a Nurse's Aid. Many health care professionals find that completing a nurse aide training program is a great first step towards a rewarding career in the nursing field.

Nurse's Aides work in hospitals, nursing homes and other medical facilities where they change linens, help patients with grooming and other day-to-day tasks, provide mealtime assistance and help patients move or walk.
