Ocean County College, a public two-year community college sponsored by Ocean County and the state of New Jersey. The online division offers a variety of engaging, professionally relevant online degrees and classes. Courses can be taken as part of a complete degree program or on an individual course-by-course basis. Ocean County College's e-learning program is designed for students with an ability to manage their time well and be self-starters. The program enables students to maintain lives outside of the classroom with flexible course schedules that allow for individual time management. For college students who begin their studies at a community college, associate of arts and associate of science programs should transfer in full, with the student bearing some responsibility to make elective choices at the community college that are consistent with the intended major and the requirements of the four-year college or university. OCC works with four-year colleges and universities to ensure the transfer of as many credits as possible towards a bachelor's degree. The associate of applied sciences degree prepares students for immediate employment after graduation, although students who pursue this degree also transfer successfully. The Novins Planetarium Sky Theater has some of the latest projection technology to bring students the universe in innovative, new ways. The planetarium dome is a virtual 3D video space, unrestricted to simply an earthbound view of the sky, but can now take viewers on a journey from the smallest size scales to the edge of the universe.
